Behind The Scenes: Pink Corals First Photoshoot
June has been a very exciting month here at @pinkcoralmiami as we are getting ready for our official July 2017 Summer Launch. Growing our stores inventory can only mean one thing – its photoshoot time. Thank goodness Ralph Raphael Photography is part of our team.
We gathered together our amazing Miami talent + scouted locations and on June 9th we had our first official photoshoot!
Shooting an entire line in one day – full look book styles + catalogue – is not an easy afternoon. It required A LOT of pre planning, a lot of running around, coffee and of course an amazing team! Plus it was a lot of fun seeing our dream finally coming to a reality. The shoot took us a total of about 9 hours. We gathered bright and early on a sticky Friday morning and the fun began. Since we seem to be playing Russian Roulette with the rain in Miami these past few weeks, we were rushing to begin so we could have as much sunlight as possible.
While we got the girls in hair and makeup, we started to organize the clothing per model and got to steaming. (IF you don’t already own a steamer, I would highly recommend buying one. I bought two, one for at home use and one for on site shoots and events AND I am obsessed with both.)
Marija is one of Miamis newest and hottest makeup artists (her Instagram in listed below). Before the shoot she put together her own Pinterest type board for each model that would compliment all of the styles that we had to shoot. She was amazing! She better never leave Miami because I wont work with another make up artist as long as she’s around. She stayed the whole day touching up the make up in-between shots and helping us jump from inside to outside to the studio.
We decided very early on in our planning that our site would be a combination of both look-book and catalogue style. Ralph began to set up locations inside and outside for our look book, we also set up our ‘on the go’ studio to shoot our catalogue styles as well. This man is such a pro when it comes to shooting ANYTHING and ANYONE (like have you seen this mans website? He can do anything)so all I knew we wouldn’t have any issues with the photography side – and Ralph incredible energy kept us going when we were slugging..)
We chose to shoot at a friends house and that house was absolutely nothing short of INCREDIBLE! It is located right on the water and is complete with full garden in the backyard. It had the diversity we needed to shoot an entire look book in an afternoon. (We did it so don’t doubt us).
We managed to get wardrobe organized, steamed, styled and our mini popup photo studio set up easily (well with a few weeks preplanning of course) and began scouting our first spot to get started. Since this is our first shoot, and aren’t selling any accessories (YET) the styling was fairly simple.
The models came ready and flawless. As soon as that camera clicked they BROUGHT IT. I consider myself an average model and these girls made me question everything I have ever done in the my modeling career . Modeling is never as easy as everyone thinks it is, and these girls made it look like anyone could do it . IF you are looking for some amazing and GORGEOUS models in Miami I highly recommend both of these beauties. Check them out Instagram, links are below.
Overall it was an incredible experience to see this dream come to reality and watch Pink Coral Miami come to life.
We finished our day with rain (MIAMI PROBLEMS) as well as five pizzas (please DO FEED the models) and one VERY VERY happy boutique owner.
Stay tuned for our website launch in July.
All the outfits in the photos are Pink Coral Miami!

Its all in the details:
Pink Coral is a Miami based clothing brand inspired by all things beautiful and beachy. Small, curvy, pale, tanned we have something for every woman.
Pink Coral is based out of Miami Florida, but our inventory was created with women all over the USA and Canada in mind. We shot at my friends who house that was built by a famous Miami architect (whose name we are still trying to find again..to be continued)
Instead of hiring professionals for the day, we wanted to build a team to grow with and continue to work with. We couldn’t be happier with the AMAZING team we worked with ( you WILL see them again).
