Turmeric..
The big secret ingredient to revealing your natural beauty is turmeric.
Turmeric is a popular spice often referred to ‘the golden spice’. It is part of the ginger family and usually grows in Asia and Central America. It is especially popular in India and China.
The spice has antifungal, antiseptic and antibacterial properties and is also a natural inflammatory (among many other incredible natural properties). Its frequently used to fight sickness and disease, and more commonly treat cancer but is also a game changer when it comes to your skin and beauty regimen.
It fights acne, brightens dull skin, evens discolorations, anti-aging, whitens teeth and even helps with acne scars. Turmeric paste is also said to help fight puffiness, wrinkles and even eczema.
Apparently, Indian brides perform an ancient beauty ritual the day of their wedding where the bride is covered head to toe in a turmeric mixture (consisting of turmeric, gram flour, sandalwood powder and mustard oil) which is said to cleanse their body and give the brides a glow on their wedding day.
After an afternoon as a local all natural spa a few months ago, I got my first turmeric based facial and I was instantly obsessed. My skin looked clear, bright. tighter and smooth. Hence, this blog post sharing my findings.
**Note: as per everything else you put on your skin, always test on a patch of your skin to see how your body reacts. IF you have sensitive skin, make sure you are using high-quality turmeric**
