#TaggedInMiami is proud to announce our collaboration with model + business student + and author: Claire Stewart.
We are SO happy to have you on our team! How did you get into writing?
OH, thank you, thank you! What a great opportunity. I’m excited to get started here.
To be honest I can’t pinpoint a time where I realized I really enjoyed writing and wanted to do more of it. It’s always come easily to me. When I started posting personal work, the reviews and feedback were always an overwhelming push to keep going and produce more. I have so many thoughts and ideas every single day.. it’s fun to be able to share them.
What types of material can we expect from you?
Encouragement. To sum it up encouragement, but this can range from just about anything in my day to day life. I will review and network brands of course, but the bulk of my writing comes from experience. If I can go through something and extract that lesson from the hardship then I think it’s really important that these moments are shared as a service to others. There is a lot of discouragement out there. People analyze the lives of strangers on these social media apps and at the end of the day compare themselves.
Expect the unexpected I’d say. There will be beauty how to’s, brand networking and reviews, as well as travel posts. There will also be personal stories, experiences, and positivity posts all centered on my daily life and routine. I might share a secret or two. Regardless of the basis, the theme will always be the encouragement to do better, live better, and just be better. I am a firm believer in as within is without. If you better yourself… you better your life. It’s rewarding to watch the impact of that shining light boost the lives of those around you.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
There aren’t many things that don’t inspire me actually- if I had to narrow it down I would say the people that I am closest too. My family, my friends, and my boyfriend. I know a lot of great people which means I’ve had a lot of great experiences. I don’t know what I did to deserve the parents that I have but my mom is a creative genius. She’s an artist, that’s never colored between the lines. My dad is a businessman whose successful in his job. A lot of this from hard work but most of it from his grand optimism. Those two personalities as a unit have inspired me ever since I was old enough to understand. My boyfriend has a strong character. He is supportive, and he’s realistic. Mostly he’s a magnetic ball of positive energy. I never have to look on the bright side because I pretty much live there. These people make it so easy to stay inspired. I get a lot of inspiration from the little things, random acts of kindness, just anything that is good and beautiful in this world.
You are a famously private person, what can you tell us about yourself?
Well, I’m Claire. I’m 23, and I like to keep busy. I’m in my last semester as a university student. I spend my time split between the Greater Toronto area, and Arizona. My family is in Canada. My boyfriend is in Arizona during the season so I spend as much time in the desert as possible. I bartend in those gaps, and of course, write. In addition to writing, cooking and baking are probably my most successful hobbies. I’m social. I spend a lot of time with friends. I like to give back.
You’re a hardworking and talented girl. Can you tell us a little bit about your modeling?
I’ve been getting frequent questions about the modeling industry. I haven’t taken as many jobs recently I decided to give it a break. I’ve been dormant. I needed it. My schedule got demanding and when I made cuts it just wasn’t one of the most important aspects of my life, intact it was doing some damage. I’m pretty much limited to print because of my height. I’m 5’6. Industry cutoffs are usually 5’8 (minimum) so I’ve done 1 runway job in my life. That makes it hard to breakthrough. I’ve worked for some major brands. I’ve done a lot of boutique work, and web content. I shot 3 nationwide campaigns last year so that was really exciting. I still work in the industry when an opportunity comes up that I have time to commit to. I refuse to half-ass anything- it just wastes everyone’s time. I know I’ve got some work with Pink Coral Miami on the horizon which is exciting. I genuinely enjoy being behind the camera, it comes naturally to me. I’ve just never seen it as a career. It’s fun, I forget I’m working.
Tell us about your unique presence on social media.
Pretty much just Planet Claire. I haven’t been posting as frequently but that’s changing. My social media can be a little misleading as a result of my hectic life. I post, but there are a lot of gaps to fill in. Some moments I just want to be my own, and some moments I’m just enjoying too much to capture and share with the rest of the world.
What do you love about Miami?
I’ve never had a bad day in Miami, anywhere in Florida for that matter. I think I’m solar powered.
