Let’s Get a Little Astrological, shall we?
Happy St. Patty’s Day! Did you have green beer today? Do people even do that anymore? I’ve been in a different galaxy and haven’t been keeping up with the 3D realm… Anyway! There’s a lot of crazy energy going on in the atmosphere right now and I’m here to give you the run down! Firstly, there’s a New Moon in Pisces today which is a pretty big deal! Mercury is about to go Retrograde next week and we’re all silently freaking out, pretending not to notice! Also, Jupiter is now retrograde (whaaaa… another one??) and will be until July! So what’s all this mean? Well if you’re curious to learn about all this Astrology lingo crap and what it all stands for, you came to the right spot!
New Moon Pisces
The New Moon rolled in this morning around 5:13 PST at 26 degrees in Pisces. The mutable water energy of Pisces is wanting us to reflect. New Moons are the beginning of a six-month cycle. So it’s all about new beginnings. However, before we can start fresh, this Piscean energy is letting us know that we have unfinished business. Perhaps there are some things you put off to the side to focus on ‘more important things’ for the time being and they never got resolved? Half-fulfilling relationships, old patterns, old thought processes about yourself that are still getting you nowhere. It’s time for a full releasing and closure of what you’ve been avoiding and putting to the side. The Full Moon in Leo last month was the end of a 6-month cycle so right now is the final releasing of all that old energy so we can start fresh with a clean slate. There’s no point in starting new ventures with old baggage so this New Moon wants you to release it! With an aspect like Sun conjunct the New Moon, it makes it easier for our emotions and our actions to align so we can follow through with this major renovation and clean house once and for all! The New Moon is also conjunct Chiron however, which is the wounded warrior. So you can feel revved up and ready to go, only to feel like you’re still stagnant and not getting anything accomplished. Don’t worry, this will pass once the moon orbits past Chiron at 28 degrees Pisces and into Aries for more fiery adventures starting mid-Saturday! We are almost officially in Spring season which means we’re leaving behind the practical earthy and airy energies of Capricorn and Aquarius, and moving into the intuitive and passionate water and fire signs of Pisces and Aries. You’ll notice the way people carry themselves will change with the energy changes. People will come off as more carefree and relaxed. As well as more passionate, firey, and ready to attack life with everything they’ve got! Versus the more practical, logical, solitude energy of Capricorn and Aquarius that we just came from. It’s time to release the old and step into this new energy with the New Moon. It’s a great time to journal to help manifest our next steps toward greatness!
Mercury retrograde is kind of a big deal because the planet of Mercury rules over communication, technology, transportation, and basically anything that has you dealing with other people. It’s important to pay attention when transits like these happen because you’ll start to notice a pattern and can be more prepared the next time it comes around. Mercury goes Retrograde 3 to 4 times a year, every year. So that’s what makes astrology cool because you can look back at any big situation that may have happened in your lifetime and get more clarity on why it didn’t work out. Maybe there was a big contract with a prospect company that never went through, or maybe you and your significant other broke up over something that now looking back on it, seems so small and unimportant. It’s possible that during these times, Mercury was Retrograde.
It’s also pretty cool to watch how the energies of the universe start to play out in others’ lives as well. You’ll start to notice more people complaining about their cars having issues, or people’s phones and computers messing up. Traffic can seem super slow, more accidents could occur and trains and public transportation will have more issues. More arguments will happen because people will take certain things the wrong way, and a lot of people will quit or change jobs. Needless to say, I’m contemplating hiding under a rock the next four weeks. But let’s not run from Mercury! Mercury just wants us to become more internal. Less outward communication and more inward communication for clarity and growth. There are lots of things that might seem a little more difficult during this time of Mercury Retrograde. Below, I’ve made a list of the more common occurrences that one will see during this time and reasons to try to avoid them.
Things to Avoid while Mercury is Retrograde:
Traveling– It’s not the best idea to travel during Mercury retrograde because as I stated above, Mercury rules over transportation. If it’s a mandatory trip, don’t think you’re doomed! If you continue to stay positive and attract only high vibes toward you, you can have less of a chance for things to go wrong. But it’s best to wait and save your vaca’s for after April 15th!
Things that can happen if you travel during a Mercury Retrograde:
- More flight delays
- Bags can get lost
- Ticket prices can be more expensive
- Car issues can occur
- GPS issues will happen, the list goes on.
Moving: This can be a tricky situation because sometimes we can’t help if our lease ends during a Mercury Retrograde or if we have to move for work during a Mercury Retrograde but if you can help it, it’s best to wait those 4 little weeks and move after it’s gone direct.
Things that can happen if you move during a Mercury Retrograde:
- You’ll end up hating your new roommate
- You’ll end up hating your new place for some reason or another (mean landlord, no transit, bugs, etc.)
- If you sell your house while Mercury is Retrograde, when it goes direct you’ll find that you could’ve made more money if you would have waited and gone a different route.
- The whole moving process could just be way more hectic than it should be
This is not referring to mandatory surgeries where it’s life-threatening if the surgery is not performed, but elective surgeries that will be okay if you postpone for a few weeks, like LASIK or plastic surgery, etc.
Things that can happen if you have elective surgery during a Mercury Retrograde:
- Nothing serious will occur, you might just have to go back in because something didn’t get properly done how it should have or they might need to re-do the surgery again. So it’s best for you and your wallet if you schedule your appointments for after April 15th when Mercury goes direct.
Job Changes: It’s always great when we find a new career path or an amazing job opportunity but it’s important to pay attention to the energies that are influencing us before we make such a major decision.
Things that can happen if you change jobs/careers during Mercury Retrograde:
- If you’re one of the brave souls that attempt to start their business during a Mercury Retrograde, you’ll notice getting started could be a little harder than you thought. Communication might be off with potential prospects or clients could be busy or not have the extra money for your services.
- If you quit your job during a Mercury Retrograde, it might be hard to pick right back up with another one. Setting up calls and interviews with potential employers will feel more like playing phone tag.
- If you’re finally fed up with your job and you throw in the towel, once Mercury goes direct in mid-April, you could potentially be regretting that you quit. But by then it’ll be too little too late!
Purchasing Electronics or Transportation: Mercury rules over electronics and transportation so while it’s retrograde things can tend to have a lag. If you purchase a new phone, laptop, TV, car or anything of the likes during a retrograde, after it goes direct, there’s a possibility that what you just purchased will start to have issues.
Things that can happen if you purchase electronics or a new vehicle during Mercury Retrograde:
- If you buy a car during the Retrograde, once it goes direct you might find that same car for sale somewhere else for a much cheaper rate
- You could settle on a deal and once it goes direct, you’ll realize the deal isn’t what it seemed to be
- You’ll think you made a good deal but you could get ripped off
Contracts: Don’t sign ‘em! During Mercury Retrograde, it’s best to steer clear of any type of contracts if you can help it. This includes new car contracts as mentioned above, new housing contracts, new job contracts, basically any type of paperwork that we all have a bad habit of signing without reading.
Things that can happen if you sign a contract during Mercury Retrograde:
- What you signed may not turn out in your favor once Mercury goes direct
- There could be some misunderstandings with the agreement between two parties
- You might end up changing your mind about it once it goes direct, but it’ll be too late
Mercury retrograde is all about slowing down, acknowledging the present, going internal and looking within to heal our wounds that haven’t quite been healed yet. Let’s get those emotions and wounds back out during this Mercury Retrograde and New Moon and mend them from the inside out. Now is a perfect time to kind of go MIA from the things that aren’t benefiting you the most so you can really focus on yourself, your goals, and what you want out of life. Right now isn’t quite the best time to execute these thoughts but it’s absolutely the perfect time to be daydreaming, writing down and manifesting the next steps you want to take in life so once Mercury goes direct after April 15th, you’re ready to hit the ground running!
Jupiter Retrograde is happening from March 8th – July 10th in the sign of Scorpio. Jupiter goes Retrograde about every 13 months for roughly 4 months at a time. Pay attention to the people you attract and the conversations you have from now until July 10th and you’ll notice you’ll have some very deeply intense interactions with people. Jupiter is the planet of knowledge and wisdom and it’s in the sign of Scorpio so you might have some very powerful conversations with people regarding religion or spirituality that might help you transcend into the next wave of consciousness. Scorpio is all about death and transformation so a releasing of old energy can be exactly what’s needed to transform into the next amazing version of yourself. With Jupiter Sextiling Pluto in Capricorn, there’s a lot of grounded, focused energy surrounding us which is great for staying proactive, planning accordingly and taking action to get things done. You might be planning a future trip abroad or planning which degree to get next! Just remember that Retrogrades are a time to slow down, go internal and listen to your higher self for clarity and resilience. It’s not necessarily a time to push forward with new goals. Focus on living in the moment and things will naturally manifest accordingly.
Tarot for the Month of March
This is the perfect time to pull the Sun card during all of this new Aries energy! It’s the beginning of spring and we’re fired up! The Sun card is a card that represents good fortune, happiness and harmony. This card is saying that if we follow through with the releasing of those old energies, the universe will align in our favor to bring us along our path toward greater success. The sun is a symbol of consistency as no matter what happens day to day, still it rises. No matter the challenges we endure, remember to stay positive and believe that brighter days are ahead! Everything is an experience. Good and bad. Ying and Yang. Sometimes we have to experience certain situations to come out stronger, sharper and wiser.
Until next time,
High Vibes! ✨
P.S: It is important to know your other energies in your Natal Chart when relating to the planets and astrology. You are way more than just your Sun sign. I resonate a lot with my moon sign as well as my sun and ascendant. If you are curious about what energies you carry or how to read your Natal Chart, I do Natal Chart readings that include a voice recording of a snapshot of what the rest of the year is like for you, with the full moons/new moons and important transits to know about, and how they relate to your personal chart in 2018.
